RESUMO

Glycosylated polyene macrolides are important antifungal agents that are produced by many actinomycete species. Development of new polyenes may deliver improved antibiotics. Here, Streptomyces nodosus was genetically re-programmed to synthesise pentaene analogues of the heptaene amphotericin B. These pentaenes are of interest as surrogate substrates for enzymes catalysing unusual, late-stage biosynthetic modifications. The previous deletion of amphotericin polyketide synthase modules 5 and 6 generated S. nodosus M57, which produces an inactive pentaene. Here, the chain-terminating thioesterase was fused to module 16 to generate strain M57-16TE, in which cycles 5, 6, 17 and 18 are eliminated from the biosynthetic pathway. Another variant of M57 was obtained by replacing modules 15, 16 and 17 with a single 15-17 hybrid module. This gave strain M57-1517, in which cycles 5, 6, 15 and 16 are deleted. M57-16TE and M57-1517 gave reduced pentaene yields. Only M57-1517 delivered its predicted full-length pentaene macrolactone in low amounts. For both mutants, the major pentaenes were intermediates released from modules 10, 11 and 12. Longer pentaene chains were unstable. The novel pentaenes were not glycosylated and were not active against Candida albicans. However, random mutagenesis and screening may yet deliver new antifungal producers from the M57-16TE and M57-1517 strains.

RESUMO

Ocean acidification (OA) driven by elevated carbon dioxide (CO2) levels is expected to disturb marine ecological processes, including the formation and control of harmful algal blooms (HABs). In this study, the effects of rising CO2 on the allelopathic effects of macroalgae Ulva pertusa to a toxic dinoflagellate Karenia mikimotoi were investigated. It was found that high level of CO2 (1000 ppmv) promoted the competitive growth of K. mikimotoi compared to the group of present ambient CO2 level (420ppmv), with the number of algal cell increased from 32.2 × 104 cells/mL to 36.75 × 104 cells/mL after 96 h mono-culture. Additionally, rising CO2 level weakened allelopathic effects of U. pertusa on K. mikimotoi, as demonstrated by the decreased inhibition rate (50.6 % under the original condition VS 34.3 % under the acidified condition after 96 h co-culture) and the decreased reactive oxygen species (ROS) level, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, antioxidant enzymes activity (superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), glutathione reductase (GR) and catalase (CAT) and non-enzymatic antioxidants (glutathione (GSH) and ascorbic acid (ascorbate, vitamin C). Indicators for cell apoptosis of K. mikimotoi including decreased caspase-3 and -9 protease activity were observed when the co-cultured systems were under rising CO2 exposure. Furthermore, high CO2 level disturbed fatty acid synthesis in U. pertusa and significantly decreased the contents of fatty acids with allelopathy, resulting in the allelopathy weakening of U. pertusa. Collectively, rising CO2 level promoted the growth of K. mikimotoi and weakened allelopathic effects of U. pertusa on K. mikimotoi, indicating the increased difficulties in controlling K. mikimotoi using macroalgae in the future.

RESUMO

Activation of a silent gene cluster in Streptomyces nodosus leads to synthesis of a cinnamoyl-containing non-ribosomal peptide (CCNP) that is related to skyllamycins. This novel CCNP was isolated and its structure was interrogated using mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The isolated compound is an oxidised skyllamycin A in which an additional oxygen atom is incorporated in the cinnamoyl side-chain in the form of an epoxide. The gene for the epoxide-forming cytochrome P450 was identified by targeted disruption. The enzyme was overproduced in Escherichia coli and a 1.43 Å high-resolution crystal structure was determined. This is the first crystal structure for a P450 that forms an epoxide in a substituted cinnamoyl chain of a lipopeptide. These results confirm the proposed functions of P450s encoded by biosynthetic gene clusters for other epoxidized CCNPs and will assist investigation of how epoxide stereochemistry is determined in these natural products.

RESUMO

Background: Deer tuberculosis is a chronic zoonotic infectious disease, despite the existence of socio-economic and zoonotic risk factors, but at present, there has been no systematic review of deer tuberculosis prevalence in mainland China. The aim of this meta-analysis was to estimate the overall prevalence of deer TB in mainland China and to assess possible associations between potential risk factors and the prevalence of deer tuberculosis. Methodology: This study was searched in six databases in Chinese and English, respectively (1981 to December 2023). Four authors independently reviewed the titles and abstracts of all retrieved articles to establish the inclusion exclusion criteria. Using the meta-analysis package estimated the combined effects. Cochran's Q-statistic was used to analyze heterogeneity. Funnel plots (symmetry) and used the Egger's test identifying publication bias. Trim-and-fill analysis methods were used for validation and sensitivity analysis. we also performed subgroup and meta-regression analyses. Results: In this study, we obtained 4,400 studies, 20 cross-sectional studies were screened and conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis. Results show: The overall prevalence of tuberculosis in deer in mainland China was 16.1% (95% confidence interval (CI):10.5 24.6; (Deer tuberculosis infected 5,367 out of 22,215 deer in mainland China) 5,367/22215; 1981 to 2023). The prevalence in Central China was the highest 17.5% (95% CI:14.0-21.9; 63/362), and among provinces, the prevalence in Heilongjiang was the highest at 26.5% (95% CI:13.2-53.0; 1557/4291). Elaphurus davidianus was the most commonly infected species, with a prevalence of 35.3% (95% CI:18.5-67.2; 6/17). We also assessed the association between geographic risk factors and the incidence of deer tuberculosis. Conclusion: Deer tuberculosis is still present in some areas of China. Assessing the association between risk factors and the prevalence of deer tuberculosis showed that reasonable and scientific-based breeding methods, a suitable breeding environment, and rapid and accurate detection methods could effectively reduce the prevalence of deer tuberculosis. In addition, in the management and operation of the breeding base, improving the scientific feed nutrition standards and establishing comprehensive standards for disease prevention, immunization, quarantine, treatment, and disinfection according to the breeding varieties and scale, are suggested as ways to reduce the prevalence of deer tuberculosis.

RESUMO

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a pathogenic bacterium that is parasitic in macrophages and show high adaptation to the host's immune response. It can also trigger a complex immune response in the host. This relies on proteins encoded by a series of M. tuberculosis-encoded virulence genes. We found that the M. tuberculosis Rv3435c gene is highly conserved among pathogenic mycobacteria, and might be a virulence gene. To explore the gene function of Rv3435c, we used Mycobacterium smegmatis to construct a recombinant mycobacterium expressing Rv3435c heterologously. The results that Rv3435c is a cell wall-related protein that changes bacterial and colony morphology, inhibits the growth rate of recombinant mycobacteria, and enhances their resistance to various stresses. We also found that the fatty acid levels of the recombinant strain changed. Simultaneously, Rv3435c can inhibit the expression and secretion of inflammatory factors and host cell apoptosis, and enhance the survival of recombinant bacteria in macrophages. Experimental data indicated that Rv3435c might play an important role in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.

RESUMO

Carbon-based all-inorganic perovskite solar cells (C-IPSCs) are stable, upscalable and have low CO2-footprint to fabricate. However, they are inefficient in converting light to electricity due to poor hole extraction at perovskite/carbon interface. Here we enable an efficient hole extraction in C-IPSCs with the aid of inorganic p-type nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiOx-NPs) at the interface and in carbon. By tailoring the work function (WF) of carbon, and reducing the energy-level misalignment at the perovskite/carbon interface, NiOx-NPs enable efficient hole transfer, reduce charge recombination and minimize energy loss. As a result, we report 15.01% and 11.02% efficiencies for CsPbI2Br and CsPbIBr2 C-IPSCs, respectively, with a high open-circuit voltage of ∼1.3 V. Unencapsulated interface-modified CsPbI2Br devices maintained 92.8% of their initial efficiency at ambient conditions after nearly 2,000 h; and 94.6% after heating at 60 °C for 170 h. This strategy to tailor carbon interface with perovskite offers an important knob in improving C-IPSCs performance.

RESUMO

Cyanobacterial blooms caused by eutrophication have become a major environmental problem in aquatic ecosystems worldwide over the last few decades. Phosphorus is a limiting nutrient that affects the growth of cyanobacteria and plays a role in dynamic changes in algal density and the formation of cyanobacterial blooms. Therefore, identifying the association between phosphorus sources and Microcystis, which is the most representative and harmful cyanobacteria, is essential for building an understanding of the ecological risks of cyanobacterial blooms. However, systematic reviews summarizing the relationships between Microcystis and phosphorus in aquatic environments are rare. Thus, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the physiological and ecological interactions between phosphorus sources and Microcystis in aquatic environments from the following perspectives: (i) the effects of phosphorus source and concentration on Microcystis growth, (ii) the impacts of phosphorus on the environmental behaviors of Microcystis, (iii) mechanisms of phosphorus-related metabolism in Microcystis, and (iv) role of Microcystis in the distribution of phosphorus sources within aquatic environments. In addition, relevant unsolved issues and essential future investigations (e.g., secondary ecological risks) have been highlighted and discussed. This review provides deeper insights into the relationship between phosphorus sources and Microcystis and can serve as a reference for the evaluation, monitoring, and effective control of cyanobacterial blooms.

RESUMO

Previously, we researched that bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) induced a very significant increase in fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) expression in mouse liver and that FGF21 was increased in the peripheral blood of BVD cattle and BVD mice. To determine the role of FGF21 in relieving clinical symptoms and inhibiting the intestinal damage caused by BVDV in BVD development in mice, BALB/c mice were intraperitoneally injected with cytopathic biotype (cp) BVDV-LS01 (isolated and identified by our group) to establish a BVD mouse model. The role of FGF21 in the BVD mouse model was investigated by injecting the mice with FGF21. The animals were divided into control, BVDV challenge, BVDV + FGF21, BVDV + FGF21Ab (anti-FGF21 antibody), and BVDV + IgG (immunoglobulin G) groups. The stool consistency, the degree of bloody diarrhea, histopathological changes, inflammatory cell infiltration, weight loss percentage, and detection of BVDV in the feces of the mice were examined, and the pathological changes and inflammatory cytokine expression were analyzed. The results showed that after BVDV challenge, the average BVD mouse model score of the BVDV mice was 11.6 points. In addition to mild diarrhea and tissue damage, BVDV was detected in the stools of 13 BVDV mice. Only two mice in the control group had scores (both, 1 point each). The comprehensive scoring results demonstrated the successful establishment of the BVD mouse model. FGF21 alleviated the clinical symptoms in the BVD mice and significantly improved weight loss. Furthermore, FGF21 inhibited the BVDV-induced leukocyte, platelet, and lymphocyte reduction while inhibiting the expression of BVDV-induced inflammatory factors. In the BVD mice, FGF21 promoted duodenal epithelial cell proliferation, thereby significantly improving the damage to the cells. In conclusion, FGF21 exerted a good therapeutic effect on the BVD mouse model.

RESUMO

Linoleic acid (LA) shows great potential in inhibiting the growth of multiple red tide microalgae by disturbing algal physio-biochemical processes. However, our knowledge on the mechanisms of algal mortality at metabolic level remains limited. Herein, the response of K. mikimotoi to LA was evaluated using metabolomics, stable isotope techniques (SIT), and physiological indicators. Results showed that 100 µg/L LA promoted the growth of K. mikimotoi, which was significantly inhibited by 500 µg/L LA, along with a significant reduction of photosynthetic pigments and a significant increase of reactive oxygen species (ROS). SIT showed that LA entered algal cells, and 56 isotopologues involved in ferroptosis, carotenoid biosynthesis, and porphyrin metabolism were identified. Non-targeted metabolomics identified 90 and 111 differential metabolites (DEMs) belonging to 11 metabolic pathways under the 500 µg/L and 100 µg/L LA exposure, respectively. Among them, 34 DEMs were detected by SIT. Metabolic pathway analysis showed that 500 µg/L LA significantly promoted ferroptosis, and significantly inhibited carotenoid biosynthesis, porphyrin metabolism, sphingolipid metabolism, and lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis, presenting changes opposite to those observed in 100 µg/L LA-treated K. mikimotoi. Overall, this study revealed the metabolic response of K. mikimotoi to LA, enriching our understanding on the allelochemical mechanism of LA on K. mikimotoi.

RESUMO

Acidification of seawater resulting from absorption of excessive carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is posing a serious threat to marine ecosystem. In this study, we hypothesized that acidified seawater attenuates allelopathic effects of macroalgae on red tide algae because the increase of dissolved carbon dioxide benefits algal growth, and investigated the allelopathic effects of Ulva pertusa on Karenia mikimotoi in response to seawater acidification by determining cell density, photosynthetic pigment content, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, and chloroplast structure of K. mikimotoi under U. pertusa stress in original (pH=8.2) and acidified (pH=7.8) seawater. U. pertusa inhibited the growth of K. mikimotoi in the original and acidizing seawater, and the inhibition rate was positively correlated with treatment time and concentration of U. pertusa. However, acidizing condition significantly weakened the inhibition degree of U. pertusa on K. mikimotoi (P < 0.05), with the inhibition rates decreased from 51.85 to 43.16% at 10 gFW/L U. pertusa for 96 h. U. pertusa reduced contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll c, and carotenoid, maximum photochemical quantum yield (Fv/Fm), actual quantum yield, maximum relative electron transfer efficiency (rETRmax) of PSII, real-time fluorescence value (F), and maximum fluorescence value (Fm') of PSII of K. mikimotoi under original and acidified conditions. And, the inhibition degree of U. pertusa under acidizing condition was significantly lower than that of original seawater group. Furthermore, the damage degree of chloroplast structure of K. mikimotoi under U. pertusa stress was more serious under original seawater condition. These results indicate that acidification of seawater attenuates the allelopathic effects of U. pertusa on K. mikimotoi.

RESUMO

In this study, the SNP-TiO2@Cu-MOF composite was prepared successfully by loading non-noble metal modified TiO2 (SNP-TiO2) on the surface of copper metal organic skeleton (Cu-MOF), and compared the inactivation efficiency of different photocatalysts to Karenia mikimotoi (K. mikimotoi) under visible light. The obtained photocatalyst had the characteristic crystal faces of Cu-MOF and SNP- TiO2, and contained functional groups such as Cu-O, -COOH, N-O, P-O, etc., which indicated the structural stability of the photocatalyst. The band gap of SNP-TiO2@Cu-MOF composite was 2.82 eV, and it had great light absorption ability in visible light region. It was proved to be a mesoporous adsorption material, which had a huge specific surface area (245 m2/g). Compared with other photocatalysts, SNP-TiO2@Cu-MOF composite showed the strongest photocatalytic activity. When the concentration of composite material was set to 100 mg/L and the exposure time was 6 h, the visible light photocatalytic inactivation efficiency of K. mikimotoi was 93.75 %. By measuring various metabolic indexes of K. mikimotoi under the action of different photocatalysts for 1 h, it was confirmed that cell inactivation was due to the increased membrane permeability and degradation of photosynthetic pigments and main life proteins. This research showed that SNP-TiO2@Cu-MOF composite material was full of great potential and application prospect in controlling the outbreak of eutrophication.

RESUMO

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) have caused widespread concern because of their potential harm to environmental safety and human health. As substitutes for conventional plastics, the toxic effects of short-term degradation products of biodegradable plastics (polylactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA)) on bacteria and their impact on ARGs transfer were the focus of this study. After 60 days of degradation, more secondary nanoplastics were released from the biodegradable plastics PLA and PHA than that from the conventional plastics polystyrene (PS). All kinds of nanoplastics, no matter released from biodegradable plastics or conventional plastics, had no significant toxicity to bacteria. Nanoplastic particles from biodegradable plastics could significantly increase the transfer efficiency of ARGs. Although the amount of secondary nanoplastics produced by PHA microplastics was much higher than that of PLA, the transfer frequency after exposure to PLA was much higher, which may be due to the agglomeration of PHA nanoplastics caused by plastic instability in solution. After exposure to the 60 d PLA nanoplastics, the transfer frequency was the highest, which was approximately 28 times higher than that of control. The biodegradable nanoplastics significantly enhanced the expression of the outer membrane pore protein genes ompA and ompC, which could increase cell membrane permeability. The expression levels of trfAp and trbBp were increased by repressed major global regulatory genes korA, korB, and trbA, which eventually led to an increase in conjugative transfer frequency. This study provides important insights into the evaluation of the environmental and health risks caused by secondary nanoplastics released from biodegradable plastics.

RESUMO

Extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) are important shields for microalgae when confronting with external stresses. However, the underlying roles of EPS in the interactions between microplastics (MPs) and microalgae remain poorly understood. In this study, three sizes of polystyrene (PS) MPs (20 nm, 100 nm, and 1 µm) were chosen for evaluating the compositions of EPS, secreted by Microcystis aeruginosa during exposure. The results indicated that the EPS compositions were different when M. aeruginosa was exposed to PS MPs of different sizes. The presence of EPS is helpful for alleviating the adverse effects of PS MPs on M. aeruginosa cell growth, photosynthesis, and oxidative stress. With the exception of the shading effect, insufficient EPS cause direct adsorption of unstable 1 µm PS MPs to the algal surface, which could destroy the cell wall. In contrast, aromatic proteins and fulvic acids are representative EPS components stimulated by 100 nm PS MPs, contributing to the self-aggregation and encapsulation of algal cells and availability of nutrients for algal growth, respectively. High amounts of polysaccharides were secreted by M. aeruginosa along with humic acids during exposure to 20 nm PS MPs, both of which are crucial in the homo-aggregation of 20 nm PS MPs toward minimize its adverse effects on M. aeruginosa. Together, these findings revealed the differences in EPS under the stimulation of PS MPs of different sizes and clarified the roles of different EPS components in resisting the adverse effects of PS MPs on M. aeruginosa.

RESUMO

The accumulation of reducing sugars in cold-stored tubers, known as cold-induced sweetening (CIS), negatively affects potato processing quality. The starch to sugar interconversion pathways that are altered in cold-stored CIS tubers have been elucidated, but the mechanism that regulates them remains largely unknown. This study identified a CBF/DREB transcription factor (StTINY3) that enhances CIS resistance by both activating starch biosynthesis and repressing the hydrolysis of sucrose to reducing sugars in detached cold-stored tubers. Silencing StTINY3 in a CIS-resistant genotype decreased CIS resistance, while overexpressing StTINY3 in a CIS-sensitive genotype increased CIS resistance, and altering StTINY3 expression was associated with expression changes in starch resynthesis-related genes. We showed first that overexpressing StTINY3 inhibited sucrose hydrolysis by enhancing expression of the invertase inhibitor gene StInvInh2, and second that StTINY3 promoted starch resynthesis by up-regulating a large subunit of the ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase gene StAGPaseL3, and the glucose-6-phosphate transporter gene StG6PT2. Using electrophoretic mobility shift assays, we revealed that StTINY3 is a nuclear-localized transcriptional activator that directly binds to the dehydration-responsive element/CRT cis-element in the promoters of StInvInh2 and StAGPaseL3. Taken together, these findings established that StTINY3 influences CIS resistance in cold-stored tubers by coordinately modulating the starch to sugar interconversion pathways and is a good target for improving potato processing quality.

RESUMO

In this study, cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM)-modified diatomite and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB)-modified diatomite were synthesized and used as conditioners for sewage sludge dewatering. The effects of these two types of modified diatomite on the dewaterability and settling performance of the activated sludge were studied. The mechanisms of the two modified diatomite types in the activated sludge system were elucidated. The efficiency of the CPAM-modified diatomite was better than that of the CTAB-modified diatomite in improving the settleability and dewaterability of sludge. The results indicated that specific resistance to filtration (SRF) was decreased from 8.52 × 1012 to 0.92 × 1012 m/Kg, and the water content in the remaining sludge cake after pumping filtration was decreased from 92.2 to 68.1% by adding 0.4% of CPAM-modified diatomite and pH = 3.5, which resulted in excellent sludge settling of activated sludge. Further studies showed that the polymer/surfactant adsorbed in diatomite increased sludge dewaterability and improved the sedimentation rate owing to stripping extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) and damaging the internal structure of the sludge, leading to sludge conduce bound water release. According to scanning electron microscope (SEM) images, the two types of modified diatomite powder maintained the porous structure and showed a more complete and uniform structure compared to natural diatomite.

RESUMO

Triphenyl phosphate (TPHP) is a kind of organophosphorus flame retardants, and its use is increasing annually. However, the toxic effect associated with exposure to it has not been adequately investigated. Therefore, in this study, we determined the toxic dose of TPHP in the economic fish species, Cyprinus carpio. Acute and subacute toxicity tests were conducted, and the enrichment of TPHP in the gills, brain, intestines, and liver were determined by Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, and the response of carp gut microbial community to TPHP stress was determined using 16 S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing. Results showed that the 96-h LC50 of TPHP in carp was 7 mg/L. At the 7 d, the order of TPHP absorption was as follows (from highest to lowest): gills > intestine > liver > brain, but at the 28 d and the purification period, the order of TPHP absorption was brain > gills > intestine > liver. TPHP exposure at 3.5 mg/L decreased α-diversity of the intestinal microbial community (p < 0.05), and altered community composition, in particular the relative abundance of dominant microbial populations. Functional profiles of the microbial communities predicted based on 16 S rRNA gene data showed upregulation in the degradation of exogenous substances and energy metabolism of the TPHP-treated groups (p < 0.05), suggesting that intestinal microbial taxa play a role in reducing TPHP toxicity. The results provide insights that could facilitate risk assessments of TPHP pollutants in aquatic environments and the management of associated water pollution.

RESUMO

Glycosylated polyene macrolides include effective antifungal agents, such as pimaricin, nystatin, candicidin, and amphotericin B. For the treatment of systemic mycoses, amphotericin B has been described as a gold-standard antibiotic because of its potent activity against a broad spectrum of fungal pathogens, which do not readily become resistant. However, amphotericin B has severe toxic side effects, and the development of safer alternatives remains an important objective. One approach towards obtaining such compounds is to discover new related natural products. Advances in next-generation sequencing have delivered a wealth of microbial genome sequences containing polyene biosynthetic gene clusters. These typically encode a modular polyketide synthase that catalyzes the assembly of the aglycone core, a cytochrome P450 that oxidizes a methyl branch to a carboxyl group, and additional enzymes for synthesis and attachment of a single mycosamine sugar residue. In some cases, further P450s catalyze epoxide formation or hydroxylation within the macrolactone. Bioinformatic analyses have identified over 250 of these clusters. Some are predicted to encode potentially valuable new polyenes that have not been uncovered by traditional screening methods. Recent experimental studies have characterized polyenes with new polyketide backbones, previously unknown late oxygenations, and additional sugar residues that increase water-solubility and reduce hemolytic activity. Here we review these studies and assess how this new knowledge can help to prioritize silent polyene clusters for further investigation. This approach should improve the chances of discovering better antifungal antibiotics.

RESUMO

In this study, we report the biodiversity and functional characteristics of microplastic-attached biofilms originating from two freshwater bacterial communities. Even though the microplastic-biofilm (MPB) diversities are mostly determined by original bacteria instead of microplastic types, the results from 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing still showed that the dynamic biofilm successions on different microplastics were highly dissimilar. Furthermore, the analysis of biomarkers indicated distinct bacterial species with significant dissimilarities between different MPBs, which further determined the associated functions. The co-occurrence networks showed distinct interconnective characteristics in different MPBs: The structure of MPB incubated in the lake water sample was more robust under environmental stresses, and bacteria in the tap water MPB interacted more cooperatively. Regarding this cooperative interaction, the analysis of functional prediction, in this study, also showed that more symbionts and parasites colonized on microplastics in the tap water than in the lake water. Moreover, it was suggested that MPBs were more easily formed in the tap water sample. The overall results revealed significant dissimilarities in bacterial diversity, succession, and associated functions between MPBs, in which bacterial species with specific functions should be taken seriously.

RESUMO

As an advanced oxidation technology, photocatalytic treatment of red tide algae pollution was potential of great research prospects. However, the most commonly used photocatalyst TiO2 can only use ultraviolet light with short wavelength because of its wide band gap. In this study, the non-metallic elements S, N and P were added into the TiO2 (SNP-TiO2) lattice by hydrothermal synthesis, and the inactivation effects and mechanisms of Karenia mikimotoi were studied under visible light. The particle size of the obtained photocatalyst was about 10 nm. There were obvious characteristic peaks at the (101) (004) (200) (105) (211) (204) interface and included NO bond, PO bond and SO bond. The incorporation of S, N and P reduced the band gap of TiO2 from 3.2 eV to 3.08 eV, which showed the integrity of the doping process. S0.7N1.4P0.05-TiO2 was full of excellent photocatalytic activity, the continuous inhibition effect was the most obvious. When exposed to 200 mg/L for 96 h, the growth inhibition rate (IR) was 81.8%. Photocatalytic process led to membrane damage of algal cells and collapse of photosynthetic system, caused oxidative stress response and accelerated algal cell inactivation. The study indicated that non-metallic elements modified TiO2 (SNP-TiO2) was full of potential of in treating red tide outbreak pollution under visible light.

RESUMO

In the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China, the yak is an animal of particular economic interest, which provides protein and income for herders in daily life. Brucellosis is a bacterial disease that can infect humans and animals, including yaks. It can damage the yak reproductive system, causing miscarriage and orchitis. At the same time, brucellosis threatens the health of herders. We performed this meta-analysis using R software to explore the combined prevalence and risk factors of brucellosis in yak in China. Variability was assessed by the I2 statistic and Cochran Q statistic. We identified 52 publications of related research from four databases (Wanfang Data, VIP Chinese Journal Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and of PubMed). The pooled prevalence of yak brucellosis was 8.39 %. Prevalence was highest in Southwestern China (11.1 %). The point estimate of brucellosis in yak from 2012 to 2016 was the highest (11.47 %). The point estimate of age ≤ 12 months (1.44 %) was lower than that of age > 12 months (15.6 %). This study shows that yak brucellosis is serious, and its incidence is higher than before 2012. We recommend carrying out large-scale yak brucellosis investigations in Western China and conducting comprehensive testing planning. The detection of brucellosis in adult animals should be strengthened to reduce the economic loss caused by brucellosis to herders and to improve public health.
